This portfolio website is currently a work-in-progress, and it's been outdated for several years... The good news is that I'm probably busy working and designing for clients and agencies. The bad news is that I haven't bothered to keep my work fresh and updated, and it's really not an excuse, but well.. here I am...
I wear a few hats, but they are all in a creative discipline:
I'm a Senior Experience Designer at Anthology Group/FINN Partners in Honolulu, HI where I work on enterprise website redesigns for many Hawaii and national businesses in industries that range from hospitality to automotive. Their clients include Halekulani, Halepuna, Kenworth and the PACCAR family, Local's Hawaii and ZIPPY'S. I get to work on information architecture, wireframe and ui, visual design, branding and identity, and even some front-end and cms integration work. This is my "serious job" work where I learn about WACG, UX, and accessibility design, present in meetings, focus on budgets, timelines, managing projects, all that kind of stuff.
I also consult and freelance. I prefer to work on luxury branding and identity learning from exceptionally talented Creative Directors for Ward Village - Howard Hughes, The Launiu, and The Woodlands - Ritz Carlton, or when the right opportunity comes along! This is where I get my "I love neutrals, fashion, serif types, 8 pt text, soft colors, and textures" fix. I get to work on aesthetics, from colors to assisting with castings, wardrobe, and styling.
And, I have a floral events business that I've scaled back a bit since moving to NJ (aging parents - why do we not talk enough about this?) where I design and build large-scale floral installations for marketing/pr events, full-scale event florals for weddings and floralscapes for styled shoots and photographer workshops. This is my "fun" job - I get to work with my hands, go to HomeDepot to MacGyver stuff and think about physics, work with local and global suppliers and farmers, lose years of ly life planning logistics, make something pretty, and make people happy.
I am a self-professed horse-girl and mother to my senior pup, Luna. I have been a lifelong equestrian since I was a kid, and every chance I get, I am out there learning what I can from all horsemen and women out there, and I love to travel for it. My love of horses has taken me to homestays with fifth-generation ranchers in Montana, learning about sustainable agriculture in Colorado, trekking with gauchos in Patagonia, and exercising polo ponies in Argentina. It also led me to get my Wilderness First Responder certification and, hopefully, to more adventures where I can get lost in nature, learn about other cultures, and see some really beautiful scenery.
